Hello Beloved Friends,

The other evening, I was walking through Montford, a charming neighborhood here in Asheville, and the scent of blooming flowers was everywhere. It was mesmerizing. Like flowers that blossom in rhythm with nature, this past winter has been a deeply transformative season for me ~ a time to slow down from global travel and re-root here in Asheville, gently unfurling my petals through my healing arts practice while coming to know myself more deeply.

::Life Recap::

My time in the Galápagos was a profoundly transformative experience. And I don’t mean that in the overused buzzword sense of “transformation.” It touched much deeper layers in me (places where I have met pain before), and through that came a deeper resolve and clarity about who I am and the purpose that has consistently guided my life: living through the Way of Touch.

Being there also supported the closing of my romantic partnership with Paul. The clarity that emerged was both resolute and honest. And in a way, if one must go through heartbreak, the Galápagos is not a bad place to do it. The nature there is so captivating, so alive, that it can meet the deepest wilderness within you. I was incredibly raw during my time there and left with a stronger spine and a heart that knows.

I’m more reflective as a person because of my Incubator cohort, who held and witnessed me through the many dynamic expressions of honest growth. I’m also deeply grateful to the local Galápagos community for their enthusiasm in learning Thai Yoga Massage. To receive an invitation to return and share more mindful-touch practices is both humbling and heartwarming, and something I’m sincerely considering.

Returning to Asheville, I’ve settled into a new home in downtown/Montford. I love that I can walk to my downtown healing studio and pick up groceries without needing my car all the time. There’s something about that rhythm of living ~ slower, simple, and local ~ that feels deeply nourishing for this chapter of my life.

I’ve also begun working at SoHum, the beautiful Ayurvedic center founded by Dr. Lad. I’m offering Ayurvedic body treatments to guests who come for week-long immersions. It truly is a special place ~ the gorgeous mountain landscape and the emphasis on holistic, preventative care are truly world-class. From Panchakarma therapies to Abhyanga massage, Shirodhara, and Basti treatments, these ancient practices support vitality and health in such a profound way.

I often reflect that therapeutic touch is one of the reasons I continue to feel such youthful vitality, and people often tell me I look younger than my age. I genuinely believe that healing touch nurtures the mind–body connection and deepens our awareness of the body’s language.

“The first time I experienced Thai bodywork by Dominique, I called all my friends to tell them I’d just had a transcendental healing experience. She understands anatomy, not just from professional trainings, but as an athlete, dancer and intuitive, which makes her massages both deeply soulful and restorative. Her level of intense presence makes it feel more like a collaboration than a traditional massage. 1001 giant thumbs up!”

For those who have been asking when I’ll be teaching again, my upcoming training schedule will be posted this spring!

More than anything, I feel incredibly fortunate for all the humans I continue to encounter along this path, and I hold deep gratitude for the friends near and far who remain so dear to my heart.

May we continue meeting one another ~ in presence, in care, and in the dynamic magic of being human.

Let’s get in touch!

<3, Dominique
